Interest in Liverpool’s sports striker Victor Gyoker was revealed by Fabrizio Romano. He made it clear that there is currently no active negotiations between Liverpool and the players despite reports linking Sweden’s forward to Anfield.

Romano shared an update for GivemeSport, saying that while Liverpool praises Gyoker he prioritizes the move to Arsenal if he leaves the sport this summer.

Liverpool’s reported interest in Gyoker came amid an ambitious summer rebuild following the victory of the Premier League title under Arne Slot.

The Reds have already broken their transfer spending records with the arrival of Jeremy Frimpong, Florian Wiltz and Milos Kerquez. They are trying to defend their league titles and strengthen their team ahead of their European challenges.

With the uncertain future of Darwin Nunes, they may need to jump into the market for new strikers, but they may not sign a gyoker who prefers to move to rivals.

Romano said:

“At this stage, he has no idea about the contacts Gyoker is ongoing, and his priorities are now Arsenal.

Romano’s update suggests that if Gyoker wants to focus firmly on the potential move to Arsenal and secure a new striker this summer, the Reds may need to look elsewhere.

For now, Arsenal appears to be in the driver’s seat of the gyoker, but Liverpool could pivot towards an alternative striker’s target.
