With two Grand Slam tournaments in the 2025 book, Tennis World is eagerly waiting for the start of Wimbledon on June 30th. There are many interesting questions as men and women prepare to compete for the jewels of tennis crowns.
On the men’s side, this field is led by Carlos Alcaraz. Carlos Alcaraz is about to win Wimbledon for the third consecutive year, and is a betting favorite at +120. Alkaraz beat the legendary Novak Djokovic in 2023 to win Wimbledon’s first crown and last year’s final rematch.
Alcaraz has the incredible momentum that has entered this year’s tournament, winning the French Open for a long time with Janik Thinner in the best final of all time. France’s open victory was successful during the grass court season as Alcaraz defeated the Queens Club Championship.
Djokovic is one of the most interesting names in the male draw. The legend played Wimbledon’s sixth consecutive final, rebounding from a badly shaped run to win the Geneva Open (his 100th career title) before making the semi-finals at Roland Garros. Djokovic won Wimbledon seven times in his career and sat only one of Roger Federer’s eight title records. He is the third bet favorite at +650 and could run deeper again.

Like any tournament, the sinner is a threat to run the table. Thinner has not yet won Wimbledon, but he won last year’s US Open and Australian Open, which was repeated in Australia in January. He sits at +200 to win his first Wimbledon title.
The sinner and Djokovic ended on the same side of the draw, so the path to reach either final may go through the other. Alkaraz received an easier draw than avoiding the sinner and Djokovic outside of a potential meeting in the final.
All eyes in London appear in Jack Draper. The fourth seed of his hometown is about to win this tournament and his first career grand slam. He is on the same side as the sinners and Djokovic, so the draper path to the final is tough. Assuming the expected outcome, Draper met the man who excluded him at Alexander Babrik at the French Open in the third round. If he passes Bablik in that hypothetical showdown, Djokovic could be waiting for the semi-finals with a sinner in the semi-finals.
Despite that tricky situation, Draper is fourth in bet odds at +1800.
With all the plots of the men’s tournament, the women’s field feels much more open.
My favorite headline is Aryna Sabalenka with +260. The world’s No. 1 has yet to reach the final at Wimbledon, but has won three Grand Slam tournaments at the 2023 and 2024 Australian Open and the 2024 US Open. Sabalenka reached the final this year at the Australian Open, where she lost to the Madison Keys of America and the French Open, where she was defeated by Coco Gough. Gauff’s loss caused Sabalenka to struggle mentally, annoyed as the match went on and forced errors piled up. She also sought to hold her accountable for the “terrifying” conditions in which the final was held.
Despite the tendency to get into her head when things start to break in the wrong direction, Sabalenka is a horror in her game and a fitting favourite to win her first Wimbledon title.
Gauff is +800 and won the second straight Grand Slam tournament. Even during her incredible French open runs, issues with Gauff’s inconsistent serve and forehand were on display. Forehand trouble can become even bigger issues in faster grass courts. Goff hasn’t made it past the fourth round at Wimbledon in her career, so even a deep run could be seen as an accomplishment for the Americans, especially after the grass season began with a straight set defeat to Onesy New at the Berlin Tennis Open.
Sitting in the same area as Sabalenka and Gauff are Elena Rybakina (+600) and Iga Swiatek (+800). Swiatek has four French open titles, one of which is the US Open. Over the past year, I’ve seen her stumble into poor shapes with surprisingly bad results. She discovered recent momentum as she headed for Saturday’s final in Bad Homburg against Jessica Pegra, who won her first three matches in straight sets.
Rivakina, the 2022 Wimbledon champion, has won a 19-3 record at Wimbledon, giving him the highest win percentage on the field. The start of the grass court season has been mediocre for Rivakina, with both Queen’s Club and Berlin being eliminated in the quarterfinals. Still, Rivakina’s game is built for Wimbledon, and she has proven it for many years.

2025 Wimbledon Prediction
Men’s Tournament: How can I bet on Alcaraz? With two consecutive Wimbledon titles and momentum to win the French Open and Queen’s Club, Alcaraz feels like a nearby rock to remove his third consecutive Wimbledon title. Alkaraz was also given an incredible draw. There, unless you face one of them in the final, you will not see a sinner, Djokovic, or a draper. It is a huge advantage for Alcaraz to make such a soft draw in a tournament. He is already a favorite and has chosen him for all these factors. Pick: Carlos Alcaraz (+120)
Women’s Tournament: Ignoring what the odds say, I feel the women’s field is wide open this year. Sabalenka is a power, but she is often her own worst enemy. Swiatek could be in shape just right at the right time. Even at +2500, Jessica Pegra is very playful with her aggressive style that is often translated into grass. Maybe Gouf’s French open momentum takes over her to the first Wimbledon title. I think there are too many live picks, but I’ll bring along the Elena Rivakina with the women with the best Wimbledon win rate on the field. The injury has been a problem recently, but if you can stay healthy for a few weeks, you can pull away from another Wimbledon title. Pick: ElenaRybakina (+600)
Long shot pick: We didn’t mention Madison’s key in World No. 6 above, but she is a solid grass court player, even in the central results this year in HSBC and Berlin. She is certainly worth the flyer with +2000 odds. For men, +4000 allows you to dig deep into Alexander Babrik. He has the right kind of game to run deep despite his 30th place world rankings. He proved he won the tournament with his performance at the Terra Wartman Open, where he saw him win the tournament and win things like Thinner and Danil Medvedev. We especially like Bublik’s props as the second quarter winner of +600.
