Chris Eubank Jr. vs Conor Benn II Slated for September 20th, Venue Yet to Be Announced

The highly anticipated rematch between Chris Eubank Jr. and Connor Ben is set to take place in London on September 20th. This announcement was confirmed by Turkia Arthiv, chairman of Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Bureau and the owner of Ring Magazine, which is promoting the fight.

Eubank Jr. secured a unanimous decision victory in their first encounter at the packed Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in April, a match that generated much excitement and calls for a rematch. Originally planned for September 27th, the date was moved up to September 20th due to a scheduling conflict with a Tottenham home game, although the venue has not yet been finalized.

Ben’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, mentioned that both camps are contractually obliged to host the fight at Tottenham, but there’s still a possibility of a change. He praised Tottenham as an excellent venue that worked well for their first fight and mentioned Wembley as a potential option for the rematch to accommodate the bigger crowd.

The first bout gained significant attention partly because of the rivalry rooted in their fathers’ history — Nigel Ben and Chris Eubank Sr., whose mutual animosity adds extra drama to the fighters’ own rivalry. Both fighters had tested positive for banned substances in 2022, forcing the cancellation of a scheduled match that year, but were later cleared to compete with Ben returning to the ring in November 2024.

The lead-up to their initial fight was filled with tension, including Eubank Jr. slapping Ben with an egg at a press conference, and Ben responding by taunting Eubank Sr. about his estranged relationship with his son. Although Eubank Sr. publicly stated he did not support the fight, he surprised many by attending the match alongside his son. The fight itself was an intense, grueling 12-round contest where Eubank Jr. won on points, leaving fans eager for more action.
