Rome – Top-ranked Jannik Sinner dominates men’s tennis, and Italy wiped out both Davis Cup and Billie Jean King Cup team titles last year.

Jasmine Parini will be the first home player to win the Italian Open in 40 years, trying not to rank fourth in the women’s rankings.

Players like Lorenzo Musetti, Federico Cinà and Tyra Caterina Grant offer the possibility that Italy will dominate tennis for years to come.

Still, I want more Angelo Binagi, president of the Italian Tennis and Padel Federation. more.

Binaghi aims to preserve the century of tennis history by making the Italian Open the fifth Grand Slam tournament along with the Australian Open, the French Open, the Wimbledon and the US Open.

“Is there a monopoly in other parts of society that lasts for over 100 years?” Binagi said on Sunday, the last day of Italy’s opening. “Why are there always four and four as well? …It’s absolutely unfair and doesn’t help tennis grow.”

The Italian Open is one Master Series event of one Lang under the slums of the hierarchy of the tennis tournament. However, italico events are currently running for two weeks like the majors, and are booming thanks to the success of Sinner, Parini and many other Italian players.

Italy has been hosting the ATP Finals in Turin since 2021 and recently extended its hosting contract for the year-end tournament featuring top eight male players until 2030.

“We are now world champions on both the court and organizational level,” Binagi said.

Earlier this year, Binagi expressed interest in obtaining a license to the Madrid Open just before Rome on the tennis calendar. The idea was that eliminating Madrid and growing Rome could constitute a fifth slum.

“We need to pay attention to the international market and try to take advantage of every opportunity, from the smallest ATP 250 to the biggest tournament,” Binagi said.

Requests for comments sent to the Grand Slam Commission, which represents the four majors, were not immediately answered.

Retractable roof After years of delays, organizers announced new plans to build a retractable roof at Campo Centrale, the main stadium of Italy’s opening.

At a cost of 60 million euros ($67 million), the roof is set to be ready for the 2028 tournament, with 2,000 seats added and capacity increased to 12,500.

A greater rationale This year’s tournament saw italico events increase to 12 hectares (30 to 50 acres), adding a field lined with another statue.

Stadio Dei Marmi had three courts. The 3,000-seat arena and two courthouses feature 800 seats each.

The 3,000-seat arena became the third largest show court in the tournament, following Campo Centrale and Grand Stand Arena, and created the Pietrangueriacoat, which also features the fourth largest statue.
