Tottenham Hotspur won the UEFA Europa League by beating Manchester United in the final last night, while Mikel Arteta was asked if Arsenal had a better season than his London rivals.

Arsenal is currently second in the league table, but has not won a trophy this season. The Arsenal manager was asked at the presser before Southampton if he believed Arsenal had a better season than Tottenham.

Mikel Arteta focused on Arsenal

He told Sky Sports: “I don’t like comparing myself to other teams. I need to analyze my team. That’s my job.”

Tottenham is currently 17th in the league table, and there’s no doubt that Arsenal is significantly better than them in the Premier League. But Tottenham has won the European trophy and it has to count something. Ultimately, both teams will compete in the UEFA Champions League next season, with Tottenham ending their campaign with a trophy.

Tottenham fans will be pleased with the way the season pans out for them. However, there is no doubt that the team will need to improve during the summer transfer period. Their height clubs can’t afford to finish 17th in the league table. They should be pushing top spots every season and fighting for domestic trophies.

As for Arsenal, they will be disappointed to miss the league title. They will also reach the UEFA Champions League semi-finals, and Arteta will feel that some quality additions in the summer can ultimately help them get past the line.
