There was joy and disappointment at the San Mamems on Wednesday as Tottenham defeated Man United in the Europa League final. And Harry Maguire was also angry.

Maguire was some of United players to spend an annoyed night in Bilbao, and his frustration was elevated by Christian Romero throughout the second half. The pair clashed multiple times during the closing stages, and there was another incident between the pair during the post-match festival.

Harry Maguire reacts to Christian Romero with anger

As captured by Mag United correspondent Nathan Salt, Maguire reacted angrily to Romero after being approached by Tottenham defenders during the celebration. It is unclear what was said from Argentina, but it was enough to induce his English counterpart.

Announcing the final man in the UEFA Europa League, Romero was rock solid for Tottenham in Bilbao along with central defender Mickey Van Deven, who rejected the man with an incredible goal line clearance after an error from Gugliel Moviario.

Tottenham supporters are already celebrating their success in Bilbao. Bilbao is his first trophy in over 17 years. However, this moment with Romero and Maguire is tied to making them smile more, given that the man, who was so clearly caught up in what he was told to do, has become so clear. Romero is already loved by his supporters, and this incident will make him even more loved.

However, there are concerns about Tottenham regarding Romero, which is strongly linked to the move during the summer transfer period. Atletico Madrid has identified him as their main centre-back target, suggesting that in recent months he will be very open to Riadhair’s transition to Metropolitano.
