  • Liverpool willing to release Mac Allister to sign Wharton contract
    • Latest news on Liverpool’s signing of Guehi

Liverpool believe Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi and midfield superstar Adam Wharton both want to move to Anfield in 2026, with FSG willing to sell one of their star players to Real Madrid to raise the funds.

The Reds missed out on signing Guech on deadline day in September, despite the 25-year-old agreeing a £35m move to Anfield. Since then, Liverpool have been leaking goals at an alarming rate, with Ibrahima Konate putting in a sloppy performance and new signing Giovanni Leoni missing the rest of the season through injury.

It would be surprising if the Premier League champions did not return to Guehi in 2026, but they could face competition from the likes of Bayern Munich and Real Madrid in the future, while Inter are the latest team to announce a partnership with the England international.

Meanwhile, Crystal Palace could be facing a major rebuild with manager Oliver Glasner yet to decide what to do beyond next summer, with the Reds now looking to poach another of the Eagles’ stars.

Liverpool willing to release Mac Allister to sign Wharton contract

sources say football fan cast Wharton is keen to join Liverpool in 2026 and FSG are considering accommodating Real Madrid’s interest in Alexis Mac Allister in order to raise transfer funds.

A level-headed figure who exudes class on the ball, Wharton is reportedly worth a whopping £150m, and the Reds believe his youthful vigor could compensate for what Mac Allister has lacked since suffering an ongoing injury last year.

If Liverpool were able to sign both Wharton and Guehi next summer, it would be great business and immediately give them further quality and depth in two key areas. The former is currently one of the most exciting young players in the country and Eberechi Eze says he was a great team-mate at Palace last year.

“Playing with him at Palace, I got used to watching and understanding how he plays. He’s very calm, calm and fun to play with. For being so young, he’s very mature and very wise. When you talk to him, you feel like you’re talking to someone older than me. That’s the type of guy he is. He’s a great player.”

The former Blackburn youngster would be a long-term signing with the potential to develop into an elite midfielder and could fill the void left by the Argentine as Mac Allister struggles with form and fitness.

But signing Guehi is arguably even more important for Liverpool, especially if England international Konate, one of the Premier League’s best centre-backs, also leaves for Madrid.
