The Florida Panthers are aiming for their second consecutive victory after reaching the Stanley Cup final for the third straight year. Currently holding a 3-1 lead against the Carolina Hurricanes in the Eastern Conference Finals, the Panthers must face a challenging away game in Game 5 on Wednesday night to potentially clinch the series.

The Panthers dominated the first three games of the series, outscoring the Hurricanes 16-4 and securing a 3-0 lead, but Carolina kept their hopes alive with a 3-0 shutout win at Sunrise in Game 4. Frederik Andersen, the Hurricanes’ goaltender, bounced back with 20 saves after some poor performances earlier in the series. Logan Sternven and Captain Sebastian Ajo each scored their fifth goals of the playoffs during the win.

This marked Carolina’s first win in a 15-game Eastern Conference Final losing streak. Before this, the Hurricanes last advanced by winning in 2006 with coach Rod Brinder Amore scoring the decisive goal against the Buffalo Sabres in Game 7.

Heading into Game 5, the Panthers are dealing with the injury of star forward Sam Reinhart, who missed Game 4 following a hard hit from AHO in Game 3. His participation in Wednesday’s game remains uncertain.

Here’s the full series schedule and broadcast details for Game 5:
– Game 5: Wednesday, May 28th, 8 p.m., at Lenovo Center in Raleigh, North Carolina, televised on TNT and truTV, and streamed on Fubo (free trial available).
– Game 6 (if necessary): Friday, May 30th, 8 p.m., in Florida, on TNT and truTV.
– Game 7 (if necessary): Sunday, June 1st, 8 p.m., in Raleigh, on TNT and truTV.

Series odds from DraftKings:
– Panthers favored at -1000, Hurricanes as underdogs +650
– Game 5 odds: Panthers -125, Hurricanes +105

Prediction: The Panthers are poised to reach the Stanley Cup final again despite a lackluster offensive showing in Game 4. Facing a Hurricanes team missing key player Linus Heart, Florida’s deep offense should secure a low-scoring victory. Predicted score: Panthers 2, Hurricanes 1.

Fan Take: This intense playoff series highlights the resilience and talent in the NHL, showcasing thrilling matchups that keep fans on the edge of their seats. The Panthers’ quest for back-to-back finals appearances could elevate the excitement and competitiveness of hockey, attracting more attention to the sport.
