The US Women’s Open is one of the most famous events on the LPGA Tour. It has been held every year since 1946. The first tournament was contested in a match-play format. Betsy Rawls (1951, 1953, 1957, 1960) and Mickey Wright (1958, 1959, 1961, 1964) jointly held the record for open titles for most women in the United States, winning four.
