On Wednesday evening, the Thunder was home to the Western Conference Finals and Game 5 for the Timberwolves. OKC has won one since reaching the NBA Finals for the first time since 2012.

On Wednesday, OKC defeated the Timberwolves 4-1 in the Western Conference Finals with a 124-94 victory. Again, it was a dominant performance from Thunder’s Shy Gilgauss Alexander. He finished Game 5 with 34 points, seven rebounds, eight assists and two steals. By securing a berth in the NBA Finals, SGA helped etch his name into history books.

He has earned the regular season MVP in the last 20 years and is the fourth player to play the NBA Finals in the same season. Gilgeous-Alexander joins Kobe Bryant, Lebron James (2x) and Michael Jordan (2x). In his historic 2024-25 season, the SGA has made his point to become the face of the NBA. This season he was an MVP, first team All-NBA, WCF MVP and an All-Star, winning the scoring title.

Shy Gilgauss Alexander wants to cap this season by rolling up the Larry O’Brien Trophy. OKC is waiting for the winner of the Eastern Conference. Indiana has a 3-1 lead with the Knicks. Game 5 will be in New York on Thursday night. The Knicks are turning their backs against the wall 3-1 against the Pacers. Apart from a massive collapse by Indiana, they could face the Oklahoma City Thunder in the 2025 NBA Finals.
