Aaron Creswell was linked to a move to Wrexham during the summer transfer period, allowing him to choose from Leeds United.

The newly promoted championship outfits are looking to improve their defensive forces, and the 35-year-old could be a useful acquisition for them. He will be available for free transfers this summer, and Lee Hendry believes the move to Wrexham will fit him next season.

Wrexham’s movement might be ideal

Hendry told the world of football league: “Aaron Creswell is 35 and has a lot of experience.

“He was limited to last season (game time). I think it was like 20 Premier League appearances. So he obviously couldn’t find a way back to the side and is now available for free.

“For someone like Wrexham who enters the championship, I think his experience alone will work.

“He’s a good addition and he’s going to be a good footballer. There’s no doubt about that. He feels he can stop by the championship and be a very good player for them.

“Where are they not taking him with him on a free transfer at 35? I think that’s a good signing on the Welsh side.”

Creswell has struggled with regular game times at West Ham this past season, and he is trying to play regularly. At Leeds United, he may not be a guaranteed starter, so the move to Wrexham is likely to appeal to him. It is still unknown how the situation will develop.

Leeds needs more depth with defensive units, and the 35-year-old will also be a useful player for them. Junior Furpo will need to be replaced in the summer and he is expected to move on. It will be interesting to see where West Ham’s defender ends.

His contract with the London Club will soon end and he will soon try to determine his future. He needs to join a club where he has enough playing time. He is on the Twilight stage of his career, and he wouldn’t want to sit on the bench.

Leeds can certainly use players with his quality and experience, but they must provide him with a guarantee of game time.
