Newcastle United were interested in signing Manchester City midfielder Jack Grelish during the summer window, and Liverpool was able to play a major role in the move.
Liverpool is keeping an eye on Newcastle United attacker Anthony Gordon, former Premier League scout Mick Brown.
Brown claims that Liverpool was watching the former Everton attacker and was able to move for him when the window opened. Liverpool could certainly use more depth with their offensive units, and Gordon would be a useful acquisition.
Will Liverpool move to Anthony Gordon?
“Gordon leaving Newcastle will open the door for Jack Grelish,” he told Football Insider.
“Liverpool has been watching him and he can move when the windows open.
“So, if Newcastle loses him, Graelush is one of the names that fit them well, either permanently or on loan, if the city allows.
“That’s what Man City wants and it’s going to work for Newcastle, and if Liverpool goes ahead and signs Gordon, they can play a big role in that.”
Jack Grelish will be a useful addition
Meanwhile, Grealish is unable to live up to expectations in Manchester City and will try to move him this summer. It is still unclear whether Newcastle will be able to complete the transaction with a loan or to make it permanent. He could become a very useful acquisition of Magpies, as the 29-year-old manager regains his form and confidence.
They have an ambitious project and have secured qualifying for the Champions League next season. Players are drawn to the idea of joining Newcastle. But Newcastle wouldn’t want to lose a key player like Gordon in an ideal world. They are trying to build a formidable team for the future, and Gordon is certainly a key part of their plans.
It will be interesting to see how the situation develops.
