The 2025 MLB All-Star Game voting kicks off on Wednesday, June 4th at noon. Here’s a complete overview of this year’s voting process, important dates, how it works, and what to expect.

MLB All-Star Voting Schedule:

  • Phase 1: June 4th to June 26th
  • Phase 2: June 30th to July 2nd

Phase 1:
Fans can vote starting June 4th until June 26th to select players they want to see start in the All-Star Game. Voting includes choosing starters for each position in both the American and National Leagues, with fans allowed up to five votes every 24 hours. For outfielders specifically, fans get to pick three players. However, pitchers are not part of fan voting; their selection depends on player votes and decisions made by the commissioner’s office. After Phase 1 ends, the top two vote-getters for each position (including six outfielders) will be announced. These players will be the preliminary starters, with starting lineups finalized in Phase 2.

Kevin Burkhardt and Dontrelle Willis discussed whether the New York Yankees can maintain their success in this competitive division since last year in a Fox MLB segment.

Phase 2:
Beginning at noon on June 30th and running until noon on July 2nd, fans vote again. This phase allows fans to pick a starting player at each position from the top two vote leaders (three for outfield spots) in both leagues. Fans can cast their votes once per day through MLB.com, the MLB mobile app, or across 30 MLB stadiums. Winners will be revealed on the afternoon of July 2nd.

All-Star Team Composition:
Each MLB All-Star team consists of 34 players, including 20 position players and 12 pitchers. The roster breaks down as follows:

  • 9 players selected by fan voting
  • 16 players chosen by player voting
  • 8 players appointed by the commissioner’s office
  • 1 player selected through final voting

2025 MLB All-Star Game:
Following tradition, New York Yankees manager Stephen Vogt will lead the American League team after winning the AL Pennant last season, while Los Angeles manager Dave Roberts will handle the National League squad as last year’s NL Pennant winner. The game is set for Tuesday, July 15th at Truist Park in Atlanta, Georgia, home of the Atlanta Braves. Fox will broadcast the event live for the 26th consecutive year.

Fan Take:
The MLB All-Star voting process not only energizes fans by letting them directly impact who starts in the game but also highlights emerging and veteran talent, shaping the competitive spirit of baseball’s midseason showcase. This engagement is crucial for growing baseball’s fanbase and maintaining excitement during the season’s halfway mark.
