  • The move from Florian Wiltz to Liverpool should still pass, James Pierce says
  • Liverpool showing that they mean business

Journalist James Pierce provided insight into Liverpool’s ongoing transfer bids.

German International has been lit up Leverkusen for the last few years, establishing itself as one of the top young talents in world football.

Pierce praised Liverpool for his “magnificent job” of selling the project to Wirtz when he was also interested in Bayern Munich.

Discussing this major Liverpool news article on podcast walks for the athletic, Pierce provided an update on the situation in a report that Liverpool had been denied a Wirtz bid.

Reporters expect the compromise to be hit between the LFC and Leverkusen.

“Late last week, David Ornstein reported that he had a second bid of £109 million. It was unacceptable, but those discussions are ongoing. I feel the hopes of reaching a compromise from both ends,” Pierce said.

“I think Liverpool really helped Liverpool make it clear to Liverpool that he wants to make this move. There was great hope that he would go to Bayern Munich.

“When we reported our interest, the people I spoke to said that it was about trying to ensure that Liverpool is in front of the queue if he was ready to move out of Germany. Obviously, Liverpool did an amazing job selling his projects.”

Liverpool showing that they mean business

If Liverpool completes Wirtz’s deal, it is a serious statement from the club after winning the Premier League title.

The Reds were fantastic in their first season of Arne Slot, and it will be interesting to see what he can do with major signatures like Wirtz and Jeremie Frimpong.

While other clubs imagine they will do their best to make their big moves this summer in the transfer market, Liverpool has once again shown that they will be the strength to be considered.
