Voting for the 2025 Major League Baseball All-Star Game commenced on Wednesday. This year’s midsummer event is scheduled for July 15th at Truist Park, located in the Atlanta suburbs and home to the Braves.

The starting players for the All-Star game are chosen through fan voting, which is conducted in two phases, with the first phase currently underway. Fans can cast their votes online via MLB.com/vote, individual MLB team websites, or through the MLB and MLB Ballpark apps. This initial voting phase remains open until noon on Thursday, June 26th. During this period, fans can vote up to five times daily, with an additional sixth vote available through a separate mobile app.

On June 26th, the candidates will be narrowed down significantly, with six players per position, two pitchers, and six outfielders making the cut. Key voters from each league during this phase will be guaranteed a starting position.

The second voting phase begins at noon ET on Monday, June 30th, lasting three days. During this time, fans can vote among finalists, including selections for outfielders from the remaining pool after phase one results are considered.

The fan-voted starting lineup will be revealed on July 2nd, with the complete roster announced on July 6th. The full 32-player roster, comprising 23 reserves and pitchers, is selected through a mix of player votes and committee decisions. Each MLB team is guaranteed at least one player representation. Managers Dave Roberts (Los Angeles ) for the National League and Aaron Boone (New York Yankees) for the American League will pick the starting pitchers.

Besides the game, festivities at Truist Park include the MLB draft on July 13th and the Home Run Derby on July 14th.

Fan Take: This voting process engages fans directly in shaping the All-Star Game, enhancing their connection to the sport and its stars. It not only promotes excitement leading up to the event but also ensures that fan favorites get a deserving spotlight, boosting baseball’s appeal and community involvement.
