Video: Liverpool’s Virgil van Dyke channels his inner Steven Gerrard on a great strike for the Netherlands

Liverpool captain Virgil van Dyk advanced from central defense and won the Dutch national team’s unusual long-range strike.

The experienced Dutch International got it 3-0 against Malta and 3-0 against Malta as they started early tonight’s match in this World Cup qualifier.

Van Dijk has made occasional advances to get headers from the set pieces, but it’s a bit unusual to see him drill on a fine strike with his right foot.

For Van Dyke’s long range target, check out this slightly reminiscent of the goals Liverpool legend Stephen Gerrard could score…

Van Dick is clearly pleased with his strike, and the Dutch fans present will certainly enjoy the fact that he is proving to be on a little walk around the park for their team.

Memphis Dipey also scored twice for Oranger, firing in the opener from the penalty spot before adding two seconds a few minutes later.

Virgil Van Dijk recently signed a new Liverpool deal

Van Dick can focus on playing his best football with his national team after a recent resolution of his future at Liverpool.

The 33-year-old Captain LFC won the Premier League title of the season, but the entire campaign was also full of stories about the future of several Key Reds stars.

Van Dick was nearing the end of his contract, but alongside Liverpool teammate Mohamed Sarah, he was to sign a new (confirmed on the club’s official website in April) contract.

However, Trent Alexander Arnold allowed him to run out of his deal, and he left Anfield for a move to Real Madrid.
