This year, an incredible amount was thrown out at the French Open. The second Grand Slam tournament in 2025 is expected to pay participants more than $64 million in competitions for both men and women. New men’s singles champion Carlos Alcaraz brings back nearly $3 million after beating Janik Sinner in the final. It was Alcaraz’s second French open title and the fifth overall major victory.

That money was earned plenty as Alcaraz saved three match points in the fourth set and then returned to defeat the sinner in the decisive five set tiebreak.

Women’s singles champion CocoGough won around $2.89 million after notching France’s first open title against top-ranked Alina Sabarenka.

Despite their losses, the sinners and Sabalenka do not return home empty-handed. They take it back to $1.5 million shy as runner-up. Semi-finalists Novak Djokovic, Lorenzo Musetti, Iga Swiate and Lois Boisson each pocketed more than $750,000 for their efforts at Roland Garos.

The quarterfinalists on either side of the bracket made a bit of $500,000, including Tommy Paul on the boys and Erina Svitoria on the female side. Even those who were knocked out in round 16 received more than $300,000 each of them.

How much is open payout money in France?

This year’s boys and girls single winners will take home a prize of around $2.9 million. On the doubles side, the top prize is $670,454.55.

Let’s take a look at the total prize package for the singles tournament at the 2025 French Open and what some of the eliminated players brought home.
