The matchup everyone predicted for the Men’s Wimbledon Finals will become reality on Sunday.

After Alkaraz was dispatched Fifth seed Taylor Fritz in the first semifinals On Friday, Thinner worked quickly in a straight set of seven-time Wimbledon champion Novak Djokovic, 6-3, 6-3, 6-4.

Thinner broke through the first two sets and took advantage of Djokovic’s lack of movement after his nasty fall at the end of Wednesday’s quarterfinals. The sinner ruled early with his serve, dropping a total of six points in the first two sets, and not facing a breakpoint until the third set. On the other side, Djokovic struggled when he couldn’t get his first serve. The Criminal won 25 of the 30 received points in Djokovic’s second serve in the match.

After the second set, Djokovic received treatment in the upper left thigh, came out of the break, grabbed love in the first two service games, and made the first real imprint in the match by breaking the serve of the sinner for the first time to raise 3-0. This led to the centre court crowds joining the match and trying to extend the match on Djokovic, but Thinner quickly forced that hope to clinically accurately.

World No. 1 took six of the next seven games, filmed the set and punched tickets to the first Wimbledon final of his career.

There, he faces rivals at Alcaraz, who won the final five meetings dating back to 2023. Last month, a thriller with 5 sets at Roland Garos. The sinner had full control of the match, but he saw the Spaniard get out of trouble and swipe out of him for the French open title.

Now he looks for some revenge to prevent Alcaraz from joining a short list of men’s champions and winning Wimbledon three times. The two were heavy co-lovers coming into Wimbledon, and the odds maker proved it was right to separate them from the other packs. We’ll know on Sunday whether their second Grand Slam Final Showdown will meet the first one, but it appears they’re just beginning to write a story about what appears to be tennis’s next great rival.
