The French Opening in 2025 is almost complete. The new women’s champion was crowned after Coco Gorff defeated Arena Sabalenka in a three-set thriller in the final at Roland Garros.

The 21-year-old Gauff fought to force a tiebreaker after falling behind early in the first set 1-4. Despite not being able to win that first set, Gauff was able to put together some incredible tennis in the final two sets, which had completely missed Sabalenka. After winning the 2023 US Open, he marks Gauff’s second career grand slam title.

On the men’s side, second seeded, reigning champion Carlos Alcaraz continues to look like one of the best in the world at Clay after running Lorenzo Musetti in the semi-finals. The fight between the two top clay court players ended with Alcaraz’s walkover after building a two-set lead.

Top seed Jannik Sinner is still looking for his first French Open victory, and approached in the semi-finals with a straight set victory over legendary Novak Jjokovic. The victory marked the first time in his career that Sinner reached the French Open Finals.

This is the first time Thinner and Alcaraz met in the Grand Slam final, but they met in the semi-finals last year, but Alcaraz won in five sets.

The 2025 French Open will begin on Sunday, May 25th and will be held for two weeks. The women’s final will be on June 7th, and the men’s final will be on June 8th, one day later.
