Many asked after the match whether Musetti should receive the default and were expelled from the tournament after play. Tiafoe saw the stool’s judgement as if he was expecting a ruling, but only a warning was made.

“It was the judgement of the referee, and ultimately the judgement of the tournament, which was quickly wiped out,” tennis analyst Jim Courier said during live coverage of the event. “We could see (Musetti) getting frustrated, but it wasn’t as if he had taken full throttle kicking the ball.”
