Chelsea reportedly hopes to reach the deal beyond Borussia Dortmund’s left winger Jamie Gittens’ £405 million transfer agreement.
The 20-year-old has shown himself as an exciting young talent in his recent performances in the Bundesliga and Champions League.
According to Talksport, Chelsea appears ready to place their third bid for the Gitens.
This comes from David Ornstein in today’s Athletic Report that Chelsea felt the deal was imminent.
What does Jamie Gittens’ Chelsea move mean to Alejandro Garnacho?
It would have an interesting impact on the Alejandro Garnacho Transfer Saga as Chelsea appears to have made Gittens a clear preference for the left side of the attack.
The Telegraph reported that Garnacho is keen to join Chelsea, but suggests that a swap deal involving Christopher Nukank, who will be moving to Manchester United, has been explored.
But if Chelsea prepares another improved bid for Giten, that’s probably pointing to him coming in.
It’s hard to imagine Bruce signing both the Gitens and Garnacho, but perhaps not to rule out.
To make further changes to their attack?
Chelsea definitely leaves Jadon Sancho this summer and Mucairo Mudrick is currently suspended, but others like Joa Felix and Pedro Neto are currently suspended, so more changes to this year’s wider options will need to be made.
It will probably be interesting to see how this develops over days and weeks, as Chelsea can pursue both Giten and Garnacho.
Chelsea certainly aren’t shy about spending a lot of time under these owners, and Gitens and Garnacho will be two other exciting young signatures for the present and future.
