Leeds United have not messed around with closing their business early in the chaotic summer transfer window.

Already, Daniel Fark’s white man has two signdowns that are expected to see more activity on Elland Road, with Lucas Nmeka starting the process when he joins from Wolfsburg, and Leeds has once again dipped his toe and landed Jaka Bjor for £15 million.

Of course, there is still concern about the exit as the faces of Junior Furpo and others are slowly separated from their West Yorkshire homes, but the general sense of air on the newly promoted side is one of optimism.

Nikola Krustovitch could be the next notable pick from the door, but white people might be able to land a signature even better than the powerful Montenegrin if they succeed in this other pursuit.

Leeds will race on a £9 million star

According to a new report from journalist Graeme Bailey, Leeds is currently in the race this summer to film the promising Borussia Menchenradbach’s left-back Lucas Ulrich.

Bailey says the Bundesliga giants are trying to tie German U21 International into a new deal. But the great interest from the Premier League is just apart from Leeds’ passion, but it could put those talks at risk.

Certainly, Tottenham Hotspur, Crystal Palace, Everton, Brighton and Nottingham Forest all say they are chasing defenders rated at £9 million, according to football transfers.

Still, Leeds may think he is following a necessary and valuable venture that follows the Berlin-born starlet rather than continuing to pursue Krustovitch.

Why Ulrich could be a better signature than Krustvich

Leeds already owns things like Joel Pillow and Patrick Bamford in the offense, even if the Lexe striker didn’t make it to England, and Dutchman is just fresh from his 19-goal season in the championship.

Plus, Bamford is away from the issue of repeated injuries — and is also a premier league-savvy head who can offer Farke valuable options when needed, as seen in his respectable 24-goal tally at an intimidating level.

So, given that the Georginio Rutter is the most expensive catch at over £5.5 million, there is also the risk of hitting the £30 million mark.

Meanwhile, for £7 million, Leeds can win Ulrich’s star. Ulrich should get better over time, and require much more urgently needed purchases than another center that will take part in the building. After all, removing Firpo from Leeds’ ever-changing teams will only be available to aged Sam Byram in the left-back location.

The 21-year-old in demand has already shown that he can also do great club and country opportunities, as seen as Gladbach’s offensive fullback last season.

In the evening, the “high-strength” defender, described by German U19 manager Guido Streichsbier, showed he could compete with the likes of Harvey Elliott and Ethan Nwaneri and be on the top.

He’s not too far at Firpo’s level yet, considering the former Barcelona defender assisted his final campaign 10 times.

But the Premier League, which was already pointed out by manager Gerald Soan as “a huge advancement,” could be the next big step he has to adapt.
