The third and final matches of the Club World Cup took place on Tuesday, with Benfica and Chelsea earning spots in the knockout stage. Bayern Munich and Flamengo had previously secured their advancement.

Here’s a recap of the matches:

FIFA Club World Cup Results

Benfica 1, Bayern Munich 0

Even with Bayern Munich applying pressure for nearly the entire match, Benfica’s resolute defense held strong to secure a 1-0 victory. An early goal from Andreas Schjelderup in the 13th minute set the tone, while Bayern dominated possession at 73% and managed 13 shots, with four on target. Benfica had just four shots but made the most of their opportunities, finishing the group stage with seven points.

Auckland City 1, Boca Juniors 1

Boca Juniors overwhelmed Auckland City with 41 shots but could only manage a draw. Auckland’s Nathan Gallow scored in the 26th minute, countering Boca’s offense; the New Zealand club’s goalkeeper, Christian Thomas Gray, made critical saves. The match ended with Auckland taking one point after three shots, two of which were on target.

Chelsea 3, Esperance Sportive de Tunis 0

Chelsea asserted their dominance with three goals, including two in the first half, showcasing their control throughout. Liam Dellup, who joined from Ipswich Town for £30 million earlier this month, netted his first goal for the club. Tunis struggled, facing more offside calls than they had shots, failing to register any attempts on goal.

LAFC 1, Flamengo 1

LAFC secured their first win in the Club World Cup on the final matchday of group play, with Dénis Bouanga scoring in the 84th minute after Flamengo wasted several scoring chances. Just two minutes later, Wallace Jan equalized for Flamengo, allowing them to win Group D and set up a clash with Bayern Munich. Unfortunately, LAFC was eliminated after finishing last in their group.
