After losing European qualifications next season, Man United will need to raise funds to sign all targets. Marcus Rashford is one of those players who are required to get an exit, but one of the suitors is now on the side of the road.

Rashford doesn’t rely on Reuben Amorim, so it’s urged to sell this summer. One possible way this could happen was through the triggering of a buy clause in Man United’s loan agreement with 27-year-old Aston Villa late last season.

But this is no longer an option. Aston Villa has confirmed that Rashford will officially return to Man United from Tuesday, when loan agreements for the two clubs expire.

Marco Asensio and Axel Disassi, loaned out from Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea, respectively, leave the Villa Park above goalkeeper Robin Olsen and defender Courtney Howes.

Aston Villa had a £40 million purchase option for Rashford, but it’s no surprise that they decided against causing it. He went relatively well during the loan spell, with four goals and five assists in 17 appearances in all competitions, and that amount was not enough to splash.

Man United will have to look for another club to buy Rashford. Newcastle is exploring the deal, but it is likely that he will end up in Barcelona, a club he wants to join this summer. But that’s a big problem for the people of Old Trafford, with the LA La Liga champions only considering loan agreements.
