Top foreign-born NASCAR driver Daniel Suarez, who has won at all three national levels and claimed the 2016 NASCAR XFINITY Series championship, will be leaving Truckhouse Racing Team after the 2025 season. Suarez confirmed he will no longer drive the No. 99 Chevrolet for Truckhouse, though his next destination remains unknown. Reflecting on his time with Truckhouse, Suarez expressed gratitude for a successful run that saw the team rise from obscurity in 2021 to winning races consistently. He and the team mutually decided to part ways, with Suarez highlighting the special nature of the No. 99 team.

Team owner Justin Marks praised Suarez’s significant contributions over the past five years, including his victories, growth of his brand, and emergence as a prominent figure in American motorsports. Though no official replacement has been announced, 18-year-old phenom Connor Zilish, already signed with Truckhouse, is expected to take over the No. 99 car.

Suarez began his Cup Series career with Joe Gibbs Racing before moving to Stewart-Haas Racing, then joining Truckhouse as their first driver in 2021. He achieved his first Cup victory at Sonoma in 2022 and won again in Atlanta last year, though his teammate Ross Chastain currently leads in wins and standings. As of 2025, Suarez sits 29th in the rankings, just ahead of his rookie teammate Shane van Gisbergen, while Chastain is comfortably in eighth place and secured a playoff spot after winning the Coca-Cola 600.

Fan Take: Daniel Suarez’s departure from Truckhouse marks a significant shift for both the driver and the team, injecting uncertainty but also opportunity. For NASCAR fans, this transition could signal new rivalries and fresh talent stepping into the spotlight, ultimately keeping the sport dynamic and exciting.
