If Doug Gimm wins the 2025 John Deere Classic, he can trust his clever use of approach shots.
Throughout the first 32 holes of the tournament this week at TPC Deer Run, Ghim Reaper, where he is sometimes called, five times, two of which have been drilled two holes from afar.
His fifth and latest one was before the par 4 fifth green in the second round (he played front nine on Friday). Ghim tipped and Ball found the house.
Before the PAR-4 15th eight holes, GHIM was 180 yards away after the tee shot.
Of his five hole-outs, two of them are the Eagles. The other of him came to the sixth hole in the first round 91 yards away.
These five hole-outs have proven to be huge in tournaments where the packed leaderboards and GHIM leads in shots.
His strokes were obtained: the approach so far this week has been in double digits and you know that golf stats nerds are insane.
