2025 British Grand Prix Qualifying: Full Breakdown of F1 Grid Positions

Max Verstappen has secured pole position for the 2025 F1 British Grand Prix. The Red Bull driver topped an intense qualifying session at Silverstone, edging out championship leader Oscar Piastri by just 0.103 seconds. Verstappen’s fastest lap was 1:24.892, with Piastri close behind.

McLaren’s drivers showed strong form with Oscar Piastri in second and Lando Norris in third. George Russell impressed by qualifying fourth for Mercedes, ahead of Ferrari’s Lewis Hamilton in fifth. Hamilton experienced a dip in performance after Q2, finishing slightly behind Russell by 0.203 seconds. Charles Leclerc placed sixth, just behind his teammate Hamilton.

Kimi Antonelli secured seventh place but had dropped positions in recent races. Oliver Bearman qualified eighth for Haas but will serve a 10-place grid penalty due to a red flag violation in practice. Aston Martin’s Fernando Alonso and Alpine’s Pierre Gasly rounded out the top ten.

Carlos Sainz narrowly missed out on reaching Q3 for Williams, with Red Bull’s Yuki Tsunoda in 12th. Isack Hadjar was 13th, followed by Williams’ Alex Albon and Haas’ Esteban Ocon. Liam Lawson placed 16th, while Sauber teammates Gabriel Bortoleto and Nico Hülkenberg were 17th and 19th, separated by Aston Martin’s Lance Stroll in 18th. Franco Colapinto struggled, spinning and crashing in the final corner to finish last.
