Reports suggest that Botafogo intends to announce Davide Ancelotti as its new head coach.

Davide, the son of the recently appointed Brazilian manager Carlo Ancelotti, has signed a contract with Botafogo running through December 2026.

This will mark his first senior management role, having previously worked as an assistant in clubs like Napoli, Everton, and most recently, Bayern Munich under his father’s guidance at Real Madrid.

At 35, Davide is a strong choice for Botafogo’s owner, John Textor, as he takes over from Renato Paiva, who recently departed.

Paiva resigned on June 30 after Botafogo’s defeat to Palmeiras in the 16th round of the FIFA Club World Cup.

Since parting ways with Madrid at the end of the season, Davide has been rumored to be in discussions with Glasgow Rangers and Serie A side Pisa.

His first match in charge might be this Saturday against Vasco da Gama. Currently, Botafogo sits eighth in the league standings, trailing six points behind leaders Flamengo.
