Wimbledon, England — Katerina Sirkova added to her main title collection by winning mixed doubles at Wimbledon on Thursday, 7-6 (3), 7-6 (3) wins.
Siniakova, the Czech Republic’s 10-time Grand Slam women’s doubles champion, hit a smash at her first match point on the half-full but vibrant centre court.
It was verbeek’s first major title, and Dutchman celebrated the crowd by having his father sing “Happy Birthday.”
Siniakova is also a two-time Olympic champion. She won gold in mixed doubles with Thomas Machuk at the Paris Games last year. She worked with Barbora Krejcikova to win women’s doubles gold at the Tokyo Games in 2021.
Of Siniakova’s 10 major women’s doubles titles, seven were Krejcikova, two were Taylor Townsend and one was with Coco Gauff at last year’s French Open.
