‘I’m hoping…’ – Arne Slott provides update on Liverpool’s double injury spree

Liverpool manager Arne Slott has provided an update on injuries to Alexander Isak and Jeremy Frimpong, but it doesn’t look good.

For now, Slott’s Isak’s fate seems less certain, although the Sweden international was forced off at half-time in yesterday’s away win against Eintracht Frankfurt with a groin problem.

Slott then admitted that it is difficult to know how to manage Isak’s fitness at the moment due to the fact that he did not play for three months during the summer.

Isak went on strike at his former club Newcastle in a bid to secure a move to Liverpool, but now he seems to be really struggling with the fact that he hasn’t had a proper pre-season.

Meanwhile, the Liverpool manager added that Frimpong’s situation does not look very good, with the Dutch right-back likely to be out for several weeks.

This is far from ideal for Liverpool, who have struggled to play their best, even if last night’s big away win against Eintracht Frankfurt took some of the pressure off.

Still, with so many games at the moment and the team losing four of its last five games and conceding a ton of goals, the slot will need all of its best players to be fit.

Isak in particular would be seen as a very exciting signing for LFC, but it would be another big setback for him if he had to miss a few games when he was already playing catch-up because he hadn’t played or trained for too long over the summer.

Meanwhile, Frimpong could play a key role at right-back as he was brought in to replace Trent Alexander-Arnold, but he has yet to get off to a convincing start and may need more games to get used to his new surroundings.
