Dana White Asserts John Jones and Conor McGregor Could Both Star on UFC’s “Greatest Card Ever”

Dana White is aiming to organize the most spectacular UFC event ever at the White House next year, and he plans to call on two of the sport’s biggest stars to help make it happen. This event, coinciding with America’s 250th birthday celebrations, was announced after President Donald Trump revealed plans for a pay-per-view fight card on the White House lawn.

White shared that the entire UFC roster expressed eagerness to participate, with stars like Conor McGregor and Jon Jones leading the charge for this historic showdown in Washington, DC. In his first major interview about the event, White spoke with influencer group Nerk Boys about logistics and potential matchups. His dream main event is a heavyweight title bout between Jon Jones and Tom Aspinall, though he noted that McGregor could also headline the show.

White acknowledged McGregor’s status as one of the sport’s biggest names, despite his limited fighting activity, stating that McGregor has already achieved great financial success and is now searching for a new motivation to return—though White wasn’t sure if the White House event would be that motivation. McGregor himself hinted at a comeback, saying he is still contractually tied to the UFC but is looking ahead, cryptically referring to the “oval office” as where he might be heading next.

Meanwhile, McGregor has been active off the UFC cage, recently chairing a large BKFC press conference and showing dedication as an owner, all while hinting that he may return to fighting.

For fight fans, it signals a bold new direction for UFC events and offers the tantalizing possibility of dream matchups that could elevate the sport to unprecedented heights.
