Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano are set to face off for the third time this Friday, with Taylor defending her undisputed junior welterweight title. This highly anticipated trilogy fight serves as the main event for an all-female boxing card at Madison Square Garden in New York, which features five world title bouts and will be broadcast on Netflix at 8 PM ET.

In their November rematch at the Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul undercard in Arlington, Texas, Taylor won by unanimous decision (scores of 95-94 across the board). The fight included a notable cut over Serrano’s right eye caused by an accidental head clash in the fourth round, as well as a point deduction against Taylor in the eighth round for headbutting. Serrano, despite the loss, set a Compubox record by landing 324 punches in the 10-round match— the highest number ever recorded in a women’s fight of that length. Their first encounter in April 2022 was also closely contested, with Taylor winning a split decision (scores: 97-93, 96-93, and 94-96). Currently, Serrano holds a slight betting edge as the favorite at -175 according to ESPN Bet.

Stay tuned for live updates, results, and detailed round-by-round coverage from New York.

Fan Take: This trilogy fight is a landmark moment for women’s boxing, showcasing the fierce competitiveness and high skill level that’s elevating the sport’s profile globally. Taylor vs. Serrano continues to push the boundaries for female fighters, bringing increased visibility and respect to women’s combat sports.
