Cowboys Rookie Tyler Booker Reflects on the “Bruises and Passion” from His Alabama Days Yet to Yield Victory

The Dallas Cowboys strengthened their offensive line in the 2025 NFL Draft by selecting Tyler Booker, an offensive lineman from Alabama, with the 12th overall pick. Booker, a former four-star recruit, played three seasons at Alabama from 2022 to 2024, primarily as a left guard, earning All-SEC honors in 2023. Despite Alabama’s strong performance over the past three seasons, including a 32-8 record and a playoff appearance in 2023, they faced tough losses, including to Michigan State in the semifinals and a bowl defeat to Michigan. Booker, standing 6-foot-4 and weighing 321 pounds, joins a Cowboys squad that missed the playoffs last year with a 7-10 record. Quarterback Dak Prescott missed nine games due to injury, and the team underwent coaching changes, promoting Brian Schottenheimer to head coach. This marks the third offensive lineman selected in the first round by Dallas in four years, joining Tyler Guyton and Tyler Smith. Booker is expected to become the Cowboys’ starting right guard and is eager to improve his skills during training camp. The team will kick off the 2025 preseason against the Los Angeles Rams on August 9th and start the regular season facing the Philadelphia Eagles on September 4th.

Fan Take: This drafting move highlights the Cowboys’ commitment to fortifying their offensive line, a crucial area for team success. NFL fans should watch closely, as this could signal Dallas’s push to regain playoff relevance and contend for the Super Bowl in the coming seasons.
