Swansea, Wales – Snoop Dogg has officially taken on the role of “co-owner and investor” for the Welsh Football Club, Swansea City.

The club, once part of the Premier League but currently competing in England’s second division, did not disclose any financial specifics about the deal when it was announced on Thursday. This investment brings attention to another Welsh team following a notable history in Walesham.

Editor’s Pick

“I have a well-known passion for football, and it’s an exciting moment to step into club ownership with Swansea City,” stated the American rapper and entertainment icon.

“The history of both the club and the community resonates with me deeply. This is a working-class city and club that I take pride in, much like myself as an underdog,” he added.

With more than 88 million followers on Instagram, Snoop Dogg recently helped unveil the team’s Home Shirt for the 2025-26 season. During the launch, he playfully teased Wrexham’s owner, Ryan Reynolds, on social media.

The club’s ownership group remarked, “In line with Snoop’s legacy, this announcement marks the next chapter for Swansea City, focusing on expanding the club’s influence and visibility.”

Lucamodric, who recently joined AC Milan after signing with Real Madrid, also became part of the Swansea ownership group in April.

Information from the Associated Press was used in this story.

Fan Take: This news is significant for soccer fans as it highlights the growing trend of celebrity involvement in sports, which can bring fresh energy and resources to underdog teams. Snoop Dogg’s investment might not only enhance Swansea’s profile but also attract a broader audience to the sport in Wales.
