Celtic wants to bring some offensive enhancements to the building. Also, thanks to journalist Pete O’Rourke, a new update on the hunt for centre forwards has entered the public domain.

The state pursued a Celtic striker

Bhoys found themselves looking for another striker after losing service in Kyogo Furuhashi in January. This led to Daizen Maeda playing a prominent role alongside Adam Idah.

Johnny Kenny is another offensive option, and Brendan Rodgers confirmed he wanted the Irish to sign a new contract at Parkhead before deciding whether he would be loaned out this semester or become part of the first team painting.

He explained last week after his side defeated the city of Cork: “We want to sign him a new deal and see if he’s going to stay or if he needs to get the game.”

Callum Osmand arrived early in the window from Fulham for nominal compensation. Nevertheless, Celtic has Naples Giuseppe Ambrosino on the radar, filling the gap following an inviting display at the Under-21 European Championships.

Additionally, Shin Yamada will join the Bhoys in front of Kawasaki after both clubs agree to a £1.5 million transfer fee for Japan International.

With so many potential options, I wonder if a wish for a Celtic volume is a systematic trick from Rogers. Ensuring diversity in the final third was lacking at the end of the final semester due to a lack of recognized strikers. Either way, they could now be set up to bolster their hunts for new centre forwards in a competitive campaign a few weeks away.

Celtic set up to escalate the hunt for a new striker

According to football insider O’Rourke, Celtic was able to consider signing two strikers this summer to supplement Rogers’ offense in the pursuit of potential loans for Italian international Ambrosino under the age of 21.

He said: “If Celtic pursues his signature, it’s gambling and brings such a young player into a new league. Ambrosino is a young player and clearly has great potential.

“He’s a player that Celtic can develop and give him a few minutes, but I think Brendan Rodgers is similarly trying to introduce a signature from a famous striker. I’m totally hoping for him, as my sources have told Celtic to sign two strikers.

The plan is yet to be seen in the pack of names linked to the club over the past few weeks, with Yamada and Ambrosino still unseen.

Given that the Bhoys are approaching the start of their league campaign, supporters may not have to wait long to find out who is competing at the start of XI.
