TORONTO – Wimbledon champion Janik Sinner, 24-time Grand Slam title winner Novak Djokovic and fifth-placed Jack Draper withdraw on Sunday from Toronto’s Masters 1000 tournament, which begins a week after citing injured people.

The No. 1 rank sinner cited the right elbow he was injured on his way to his first title and fourth major trophy.

He won his first Masters 1000 titles in Toronto in 2023.

“Tracing that title in Toronto two years ago was the beginning of a truly special moment for me, but after talking to my team, I have to recover,” Sinner said.

Djokovic accused gro caliber injuries for withdrawing from the event he won four times. He lost to a sinner in the Wimbledon semi-finals.

Draper will miss the Toronto and Cincinnati Masters next month. Because of left arm issues, this means they won’t play in hard court tune-up tournaments before the US opens.

“After Wimbledon, I was injured in my left arm and nothing serious, but I need to make sure I get fully recovered for the rest of the season,” Draper posted on social media. “Unfortunately, I can’t compete in Toronto or Cincinnati… See you in New York!”
