Jorge Mendes is already trying his best to find a new club for one player who has been appearing in Wolves books until recently.
The Portuguese agent has taken many clients to Molineux over the past decade and represents four members of Vitor Pereira’s current team: Josesa, Matt Doherty, Goncaro Gödez and Ferlopez.
He is also a representative for Nelson Cemedo, now a free agent after his contract in the Black country, and the manager effectively confirmed with Express & Star this week that the 31-year-old will rarely remain in his old money.
Reports from Italy suggest that the Portuguese defender could soon head to Serie A.
Mendes offers Cemed to Juventus
According to La Stampa (via Il Bianconero), Mendes provided the full back to Juventus.
However, the 59-year-old is trying to secure Semedo’s move to Turin, but Bianconeri is understood to target other right-backs such as Nahuel Molina, Lucas Vazquez and Jonathan Clauss.
What will be next for Mendes after his revival in the wolf?
With Mendes looking for a new 31-year-old club, it is certain that the defender played the Wolf’s final game five years later after 182 appearances.
His position at Molineux was explained by being awarded the club’s captain midway through last season (taking over the armband from Mario Remina). This is the reward for Gary O’Neill and his significantly improved performance under Ly Pereira.
Such a position did not seem unlikely to commit too often defensive lapses during the Bruno Reige and Julen Lopetegui eras, but it is Cemed to Cemed for his success in putting that difficult time behind him.
As athletic Steve Madeley pointed out, the fullback has gained a reputation in the wolf as a “solid, super professional, low-maintenance” player who has become “inspired” in the past few months.
It’s still unclear what the future holds for him, but once the old gold skipper from the previous becomes free agent, Pereira decides among the current right-back options between Doherty, Pedro Lima and Ki Jana Hover.
