Clarett is determined to maintain Premier League status.

Enzo Maresca and his team returned to Cobham for the week that begins on August 4th. They have valuable time to prepare for the new season, considering they will take on Crystal Palace in a Premier League match just 13 days later.

In the meantime, Chelsea are working to support Maresca with much-needed reinforcements for his team, especially in the third in the offense.

The West Londoners struggled with the flanks last season in the low block. This is the key reason why Maresca identified Chelsea’s forward line as a key area of improvement prior to the September 1 transfer deadline (Simon Phillips).

They have already sealed Liam Dellup, Jamie Gittens and Joa Pedro with a total fee of around £145 million, but it is rumoured that Maresca wants another major offensive signature to give his side a chance that could potentially challenge the title next season.

In high-level consultations with Ajax defender Jorrel Hato, who has already agreed to personal terms, Chelsea is actively working on signing the Simons.

There are also reports that the Dutch International deal is actually even further than Fabrizio Romano reports (Simon Phillips), but anything can happen until he signs on the dotted line.

“The last source I heard of Chelsea at Simons was that it was very close, but there were final details to sort it out,” journalist Simon Phillips wrote via his subjew.

“Like I said yesterday, if this isn’t over right now, I’d be shocked, but that doesn’t mean 100% can be achieved. I’m in the industry now and long enough to know that the deal isn’t over until the players have shirts or see the club announce it!

Chelsea is still talking to Man United winger Alejandro Garnacho

Taking this into consideration, journalist Graeme Bailey told TBR Football that Chelsea is still talking to Man United winger Alejandro Garnacho and his representative.

In all competitions last season, Argentina, who can play both midfield on both the left side and midfield in the centre offense, scored 11 goals and 10 assists. United wants to sell like the general knowledge at this point, so they have now cut their price tag from £70 million to around £40 million.

Following a consistent link with the 21-year-old, Bailey reports that Chelsea continues to interact with Garnacho despite prompt negotiations with Leipzig. They are also huge fans of their first choice, Aston Villa star Morgan Rodgers, so it seems that Chelsea still opens to a different scenario if they can’t hit a deal with Simons.

Garnacho was able to really fit the bill by Rio Ferdinand, the Red Devils legend, branding him a “real deal” in that he is a great replacement for the 22-year-old. Like his incredible reputation, South America boasts proven Premier League experience.
