Henderson Silver Knights Secure Artur Cholach with New One-Year Contract Extension

The Henderson Silver Knights have announced the re-signing of defenseman Alturcholach to a one-year deal earlier this week.

Hailing from Lviv, Ukraine, Cholach completed his first full professional season in 2024-25, splitting his time between the Henderson Silver Knights and the ECHL’s Tahoe Knight Monsters. Though he did not register any points in five AHL games, he made a solid impact in the ECHL, tallying seven goals and 16 assists for a total of 23 points across 54 games.

Selected by the Vegas Golden Knights in the sixth round of the 2021 NHL Draft, Cholach developed through junior leagues like the OHL with the Barry Colts and the USHL with the Sioux Falls Stampede before advancing to professional hockey. His standout offensive season was with the Colts in 2022-23, where he put up 21 points over 60 regular-season games.

By extending Cholach’s contract for another year, the Golden Knights organization emphasizes his value and potential. His performance suggested he could earn a consistent role in the AHL, a spot he successfully secured before the season’s conclusion.

Fan Take: This contract extension is promising for hockey fans who enjoy watching emerging talents progress through the ranks. Cholach’s growth reflects the importance of development leagues like the AHL and ECHL in shaping future NHL players and strengthening the overall quality of the sport.
