Manchester United are about to sign PSG goalkeeper Genluigi Donnaruma, and the French outfit has already secured a replacement for him.

According to a report by L’Equipe, Manchester United and Manchester City are in a race to sign the 26-year-old goalkeeper. He is a world class player in French costumes and helped him win the league title and the UEFA Champions League with outstanding performances last season.

Donnarumma is labelled “extraordinary” by Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

Manchester United hopes to bring him in as an alternative to the highly overwhelming Andre Onana. They are receiving a great boost in the pursuit of Italians. According to Fabrizio Romano, PSG agrees to personal terms with Lucas Chevalier. That certainly suggests they are preparing for the Italian international departure.

It remains to be seen whether Manchester United will be able to win the race for his signature.

Manchester City can replace Adason Moraz using players, making Italians ideal. Both clubs have the financial muscles to complete the transaction. However, Manchester City could be a more attractive destination for players. They can provide him with Champions League football next season and a platform to fight for trophies regularly.

Manchester United has been experiencing a period of rebuilding and will not be able to offer him European football next season either. It would be interesting to see what players decide.

The 26-year-old is at the peak of his career, and he aims to compete at the highest level. He hopes to join the elite club this summer. Anyone who ends up signing a world-class Italian would have incredible assets in their hands.
