Manchester United’s hunt for new strikers has been more widespread this summer than ever as Reuben Amorim seeks to strengthen his team before 2025/26.
The 40-year-old has already added Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo to his ranks, but the pair is set to work in the No. 10 role behind the striker.
Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee net seven Premier League goals during their final campaign, reinforcing the need for new talismans in the current window.
But despite success elsewhere in the market, new strikers have ever been able to escape and open the door to add investment from the hierarchy.
There have been a variety of players appearing on the radar lately, making it extremely important to land a new forward to help bring the Red Devils back to the top of England’s top flights.
Unite in a hunt to sign a new striker
Benjamin Sesco is a player who appeared as a key target for United this summer, but they are not alone. Newcastle United are also eager to become 22 this summer.
The Amorim side is said to have been discussing Slovenian international movements with RB Leipzig after registering 21 goals for the German side throughout 2024/25.
However, according to the independents, the youngsters are not the only player in their vision, as Chelsea amulet Nicholas Jackson is also a player they are considering.
They claim that United discussed a deal to sign Senegale International, but that could be an expensive addition as they placed a £80 million price tag on his head.
Despite the price tag, the report says it proposes cash transactions where the hierarchy can see potential swaps and bomb squad member Alejandro Garnacho moving in the opposite direction.
Why United’s latest targets are better signing than Sesco
As mentioned before, Sesko has been a target of United in recent weeks, but despite his excellent scores in Germany, the hierarchy must be careful about any contract for his signature.
The Slovenian showed off his score record, but he was able to spend a fair amount of penny as he is demanding £80 million for his signature this summer.
Such a move could be seen repeatedly for Hozilund after Danish International scored 10 goals in the season before a £72 million move to Old Trafford.
The addition of Cunha and Mbeumo highlights the club’s recruitment strategy of investing money in players who have already proven themselves on top flights in England.
The Sesko deal had to oppose their spirit during the current window, then avoid the movement of the Leipzig star and prioritize Jackson’s movement this summer.
Senegal International may not be many of the first choices for supporters, but his experience in the Premier League may be important, but it is a cost-effective option if Garnacho is included in any deal.
He has also been able to make Sesco better in many areas these days.

Jackson was able to achieve higher shots with target accuracy last season, and then became more accurate due to his efforts in the attacking area, leading to Koji’s sport labelling him as “sensational.”
He also managed to complete more passes. More passes are defined as key passes, highlighting his all-round ability, allowing the aforementioned new addition to hit the ground running in Manchester.
His advantage over Sesco is further reflected in the tally of Carrie to the opposition box around 90, allowing him to create opportunities from nothing and undoubtedly relying on players around him in front of the goal.
If you can agree to a deal with Chelsea on a potential swap deal, it’s a great business by the club, offloading players that are not Amorim’s plan, while landing stars filling key positions on the side.
It is not denied that the Leipzig star is a solid option, but given the difference between statistics and Jackson’s previous experience in the UK, the hierarchy should move towards Senegal’s star movement.
