West Ham United are interested in signing Botafogo goalkeeper John Victor during the summer transfer.
The Brazilian goalkeeper has stood out during the recently concluded FIFA Club World Cup, and his performance has attracted the attention of the English club. West Ham has already rejected the offer for players and they are back now with an improvement on the 29-year-old offer.
According to Globo Esporte, the player told Botafogo he would like to move into the Premier League and play for West Ham United next season. Development will be a big boost for the London Club and they will try to get deals across the line. The two clubs are in advanced negotiations to complete the transaction.
West Ham needs a new keeper
They need a reliable goalkeeper, and the 29-year-old is the ideal acquisition. He showed quality at the Club World Cup, but he has no doubt the attributes to succeed in the Premier League as well.
The hammer needs to bring an upgrade to the Alphonse Adeola, and the Brazilian certainly fits the profile.
John Victor enjoys the moves of the Premier League
The opportunity to move to the UK may be very appealing to players as well. It’s no surprise that he’s already informing his club that he wants to join the hammer.
This may be his last chance to join a big European club. It will be interesting to see if he can adapt quickly to the Premier League and make an immediate impact at West Ham.
The player is at the peak of his career, and this is the right time for him to try new challenges. He is trying to prove himself in the UK and establish himself as a key player for the London Club.
Meanwhile, the goalkeeper is also on Manchester United’s radar.
