ATLANTA – Manchester United’s defender Renee Yoro stated that the team is driven by a sense of “revenge” following what was their least successful season in over 50 years.

Finishing in 15th place marked their lowest position in the top tier since being relegated to the Second Division in 1974.

Reuben Amorim’s squad has had a promising preseason tour across America, achieving two wins and one draw against West Ham, Bournemouth, and Everton.

As players and staff finalize their preparations for the return to Manchester, they look ahead to the upcoming Premier League season.

Before Arsenal’s visit to Old Trafford on August 17th, Yoro emphasized that this season will not resemble the disappointing one they just endured.

“As a Manchester United player, you must aim to be your best self,” Yoro remarked.

“What we experienced last season was unacceptable. As Manchester United, being in this situation is simply not right. Our fans are aware of this, and so are we.”

“This season presents a different opportunity for us. We aim to bounce back from last year’s setbacks.”

With £130 million ($172.7 million) spent on new players Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo, United faces significant expectations for a strong season opener.

Amorim finds himself under scrutiny due to a challenging start to his tenure.

Yoro acknowledges the critics hoping for United’s failures, but believes the team must tune out external distractions and focus on their campaign.

“We’re a prestigious club, and many wish to see us falter. We know that. However, just as many people are rooting for our success. Our priority is our fans.”

“We’re ignoring the outside commentary and focusing on ourselves. Last year’s negativity won’t define us this season.”

Fan Take: This news is crucial for soccer fans as it reflects a storied club’s resolve to reclaim its former glory after a disappointing season. A strong comeback from Manchester United could reinvigorate their fan base and elevate the competitive landscape of the Premier League.
