Chelsea are reportedly preparing their first formal transfer offer for FC Köln winger Said El Mara, likely in the region of €50 million.

The Blues paid big for El Mara and are ready to show their faith in an exciting young talent who has recently attracted interest from other top clubs.

Still, according to Fichajes, Chelsea are keen to try their luck with a €50m bid and be at the front of the queue for El Mara.

With nine goals and three assists this season, the 19-year-old has made a huge impact and looks ready to step up to the next level.

Chelsea could give Said El Mara something different in attack

Chelsea’s attacking options could be open to further changes after not having had their best season at Stamford Bridge.

Jamie Gittens was a particularly disappointing summer signing, but many CFC fans would have had high hopes for players like Pedro Neto and Alejandro Garnacho as well.

Even Brazilian prodigy Estebao Willian has fallen off form after a bright start, so there is certainly room for El Mara to come in and become a key player in Liam Rosenior’s side.

19/25 is a high score, with El Mara really living up to expectations in terms of a fairly cheap transfer fee, his recent form, an age range that suggests his best is yet to come, and the fact that he is improving on the weaknesses in Chelsea’s squad.

It will be interesting to see if the west London giants are indeed able to seal this deal, but perhaps there are still a few more twists and turns to this story as we imagine there will be a lot of interest in the Germany Under-21 international this summer.
