West Ham United manager Graham Potter is rebuilding his team after a disappointing 2024-25 season.
After a poor performance under former manager Julen Lopetegui last season, Potter was appointed to the club to clean up the mess.
Hammer finished the season positively, but all their performances were disappointing.
To address team issues, Hammer made several moves this summer in the transfer market.
El Hadji Malick Diouf, Kyle Walker-Peters and Callum Wilson were signed by the Premier League side this summer, but it’s clear that more signatures will be needed this summer, especially in the midfield positions.
West Ham United wants to sign Jacob Ramsey
One of the players they targeted this summer was Aston Villa midfielder Jacob Ramsey.
According to Givemesport, Ramsey is the top transfer target this summer.
However, TBR Football reports that the midfielder does not want to move to West Ham United this summer.
Journalist Graeme Bailey claims that the midfielder will simply leave the villa to a club that can fit his ambitions.
Bailey told TBR: “Jacob Ramsey is a great player and it’s no wonder the club is asking, but I’m going to take the right opportunity to get him. He has serious World Cup ambitions.
“And the villas too, if they consider selling it, it would require a significant offer.”
Graham Potter should focus on other transfer targets
It’s clear that Villastars are not interested in participating this summer, so it’s time for the Hammer to turn his attention to other targets.
Another report from TBR Football reports that Hammer is still about to sign Ramsey, despite Hammer being determined to join them.
Liverpool’s Ben Doak is a player on the hammer radar and he is someone who can provide pace in wide and wide positions.
It would be better for them to approach the Premier League champions and sign the younger winger than they wait for Ramsey.
