Bryce Turn launched a leadoff home run in his first career at-bat, while Jose Quintana pitched six innings, allowing only three hits, as the Milwaukee Brewers, who currently hold the best record in MLB, extended their winning streak to 10 games with a 7-1 victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates on Monday night. Quintana, now 10-4, struck out three batters and walked one as the Brewers improved to 74-44 overall and an impressive 25-4 in their last 29 games.

Tarlan smacked a sinker from Pirates starter Andrew Heaney toward the center-left wall. Christian Yelich capped off the third inning with a solo home run, contributing to the Brewers’ runs alongside Salfrelic, Brandon Rockridge’s RBI single, and an error by Burt. Grant Anderson pitched clean seventh and eighth innings, while Shelby Miller closed the game with a perfect ninth inning.

Heaney, who now holds a 5-10 record, allowed six runs (five earned) on nine hits over four innings. Quintana and Freddie Peralta switched roles in the recent Pirates series, giving Peralta additional rest ahead of the Cubs series in Chicago next week. Chase Sugart, reactivated from the 15-day injured list due to left knee inflammation, pitched three innings allowing one run on two hits. The Pirates sent RHP Dauri Moreta to Triple-A Indianapolis.

Christian Yelich’s 22nd home run stood out in the Brewers’ third inning. At 36, Quintana made his 351st career start since debuting with the Chicago White Sox in 2012. For the upcoming match, RHP Paul Skenes (7-8, 1.94 ERA) will start for the Pirates against the Brewers’ Peralta (13-5, 3.03 ERA).
