  • Manchester United are looking to strengthen their midfield
  • United could take advantage of Bellingham’s situation

According to Express, Manchester United are considering a possible move for Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jobe Bellingham.

The 20-year-old, who joined the Bundesliga giants from Sunderland in the summer for a fee of around 30 million euros, feels his first-team opportunities are limited in Germany.

Despite high expectations upon his arrival and the shadow of his older brother Jude Bellingham’s global stardom, Jobe’s first few months at Dortmund were met with challenges both on and off the pitch.

United are now said to be considering a loan move in January, but doubts remain as to whether the player would agree to a move immediately after joining.

Bellingham’s move to Dortmund was seen as the natural next step in his development following an impressive breakthrough season at Sunderland.

The move seemed ideal given Dortmund’s track record of developing young English talent, particularly Jude Bellingham and Jadon Sancho. But things haven’t gone completely to plan.

Off-field complications have also added to the uncertainty surrounding his future.
According to reports, there is tension between Jobe’s father Mark Bellingham, who remains closely involved in his son’s career, and Dortmund’s sporting director Sebastian Kehl.

The situation is a warning to Man United, who are on the lookout for reinforcements in midfield.

Coach Ruben Amorim is said to be a strong believer in Bellingham’s potential.

The Red Devils are considering a short-term loan approach in January as a low-risk move that could benefit both parties.

If his playing time continues to stagnate and his off-field issues continue, a loan move could make sense for everyone involved.

However, leaving so soon after signing would be a bold step for the young midfielder.
