  • Guardiola is about to trim the team before a new campaign
  • Rodrigo could be a city’s “special” signature

Manchester City is currently “leading” in the pursuit of “special strikers.” He is keen to travel to Etihad Stadium, according to transfer expert Graeme Bailey.

Guardiola is about to trim the team before a new campaign

The new Premier League campaign is a matter of days ahead, with Man City leaving the Wolverhampton Wanderers from their home this Saturday, and Pep Guardiola travelling to Molyneux with his new look team.

City wasn’t afraid to bring new options between the midfield and the stick, given that Kevin de Bruin left at the expiration of his contract this summer.

To make way for the new arrival, he became the latest player to leave for Jack Grail and joined Everton on an overseason loan agreement.

Guardiola also suggested that he was trying to organize his team further. “Many players should leave. New players, I don’t think so. We don’t need a little more. I don’t like many players. That’s one of the reasons we sent Vitor Reis to Girona.”

But there may be room for Man City to sign the final statement. It’s recently reached around £86 million after talks over a contract with Real Madrid forward Rodrigo.

Talking to the boot room, Bailey reveals that Man City is chasing the Madrid star alongside Arsenal. “Both clubs really appeal to him. They’re both Champions League contenders and look like a perfect fit.”

Bailey also suggests that the Spanish side is willing to say goodbye to the Brazilians. “Rodrigo is said to the situation. He really loves him, but they are ready to move on and the players are in perfect alignment with them. He also thinks the situation needs to be resolved.”

Rodrigo could be a city’s “special” signature

While it’s difficult to compete around Erling Haaland’s starting spot, Carlo Ancelotti has been lyrical about Brazilian International in the past. “He’s a special striker and can play in any position. He’s fast, smart, effective. His learning is over.

However, the former Santos man has been featured primarily on the wings throughout his career, indicating that he is taken as a direct replacement for Grele.

Given his exploit in a Madrid shirt, the 24-year-old is also an upgrade for Grelish, with all the signs of chipping in with 68 goals and 51 assists in 270 appearances for the Spanish club.

Guardiola seems hesitant to add more to his team, but the Brazilian can take his advance line to the next level, so he should make room for Rodrigo.
