Crystal Palace striker Gian Philippe Mateta reportedly could be tempted by a move to Aston Villa, but he has no interest in joining Leeds United.

The Frenchman shines during the course at Selhurst Park, which appears to have brought him more transfer interest than in January.

It is still unclear whether the palace will realistically sell such a key player after already losing Ebeki Eze to Arsenal over the summer.

However, according to a report from TeamTalk, Mateta himself appears to be seduced by the opportunity to move to the villa, even if he is not interested in the potential move to Leeds.

Mateta looked like a player who could play at a higher level, and he could see the Villa as an ideal option for him.

The prolific 28-year-old may have won the FA Cup at the palace, but if he moves to the villa, he may have a realistic opportunity to play every season, and perhaps even the Champions League, in Europe.

Mateta might be ideal to help villas replace Ollie Watkins.

The AVFC may not be able to hold Watkins for too long, but Mateta is an equally proven prolific Premier League that can close that gap if necessary.

Mateta also has interest from Newcastle Catch off side It was recently reported.
