Tottenham Hotspur’s transfer window is in the form of West Ham and Bayern Munich’s Mohamed Kudus and Joa Parkigna, and we’ve already seen two players pass through the door this summer.
However, new boss Thomas Frank appears to be hoping for more reinforcements to strengthen his team after last night’s UEFA Super Cup final against PSG.
Lily White took a two-goal lead over the Champions League winners, but was unable to maintain an excellent early show.
His team ultimately lost the match against Parisians in penalties, and the board had to build on an impressive first half show on his side in Italy in favor of the 51-year-old.
One area of the pitch desperately needs reinforcement before the September 1 deadline, and work is currently being carried out behind the scenes to land one of its key targets.
Spurs working on a contract to sign an alternative to Eberechi Eze
Over the past few days, the Spurs have been working on a deal to land Comostar NicoPas after an impressive breakout season in Italy for the Serie A outfit.
The Lily White hierarchy is reportedly a 20-year-old big admirer who registered his goal contributions for 14 last season, but could cost more than £60 million this summer.
But he is not the only player hunting in such areas. According to one Spanish outlet, Barcelona star Dani Ormo is another option on Frank’s side.
They claim that Frank’s side is currently leading the Spanish signature race.
They also say the Lariga giants are ready to offload the attacking midfielder before the end of the window, but are demanding fees in the 60 million euro (£52 million) region.
Why Spurs’ latest targets are better than Eze
In an attempt to strengthen the team, the Spurs have once again discussed with Crystal Palace about a contract to land England International Ebeki Eze in the coming weeks.
He previously rode the radar during his current window, particularly considering the £60 million release clause within his contract at Selhurst Park.
Frank’s side is not only the club currently in the race for his signature, but North London rival Arsenal is also fighting the 27-year-old signature and land.
Given his goals and assist record for 16 combinations on the UK’s top flight last season, there’s no denying that he’ll be a lot of supporter’s first choice in the No. 10 role.
However, given the interest in Eze from elsewhere, it’s no surprise to see other options being considered, which is undoubtedly one of the best options for Lily White.
Comparing his statistics with the palace star statistics from a recent campaign, the Spaniards were able to outperform him more in important areas.
Labeled “World Class” by Stefan Bienkowski of Transher Markt, Olmo scored better goals and assists per 90 ratings, but won much of his efforts placed on goal.

He also achieved a higher tally of progressive passes per 90, with the pass reaching the final third and offering a more creative presence in the 10 roles on the Frank side.
The former RB Leipzig star’s advantage over Eze is further emphasized by his better take-on success rate, allowing the ball to move into dangerous territory alone before having the tool to finish his run, as seen in the aforementioned statistics.
It would be another big investment from the board, but it is clear that Spurs will land themselves the top level talent they covet in such a division.
Eze is an option filled with a great Premier League for the side, but ultimately, if the club is a consistent title contender, it will require an elite signature.
